Sushi Lolita Meetup

This past Saturday, my lolita comm got together and had a little casual style meetup for which I was the organizer. Initially, I had thought for us to attend the local showing of the Romeo and Juliet ballet, but in the end most of our comm members were still tired from attending the anime convention from the week before (myself included), so we opted instead of a more casual style sushi meetup at a local restaurant.

Angelic Pretty Candy Sprinkle Salopette Lucky Pack + Baby, the Stars Shine Bright Kumakumya-Chan Blanket Mook

I've been fortunate enough to be able to indulge in several lolita purchases over the holiday season. For the first time, I was able to order directly from Angelic Pretty (well, Angelic Pretty USA at least). I was sad to see the Candy Sprinkle print escape me on the international site, so I pounced as soon as I knew it would go live on the Angelic Pretty USA site. I had a small kink in my order since the shipping address didn't match my billing address that I gave, but I was able to clear that up in an email chain with AP USA and get my item shipped to my fiance's house rather than our apartment which is generally more inconvenient in terms of mail delivery. Once I got the lucky pack, I was really pleased with the items especially the soft purse. The salopette was somewhat tight on me, so I'll be wanting to lose inches before I wear it for a long period again. I coordinated it to have a happy night of sushi and seeing the Evangelion 3.0 movie at the theater.
The entirety of the lucky pack. I also got Style Savvy Trendsetters in the mail that day. ^_^

Big Outfit of the Day Post!

Happy belated Christmas and new year! The season of giving managed to keep me busier than I expect (worse than the school semester in some ways), so I didn't get much chance to write. Here are some of my most recent outfits though. ◕ ‿ ◕

Sweater: Forever21
Skirt: Bodyline
Socks: Target
Shoes: Bodyline
Bag: Delia's
My main complaint here is that the camera doesn't show the adorable heart detailing on the side of the socks. I can't remember a particular occasion for this outfit so... onward!

Dress: Bodyline
Tights: Holley Tea Time
Bag: Bodyline
Shoes: Bodyline
Argh, I wish I'd been able to get better lighting for this! I wore this to the showing in my area for the showing of the Madoka Magica movies, and in my hand I'm holding the free poster they were giving out. I was super happy to see those movies. I fell in love with the series last year as it was premiering week by week, and I feel guilty that I haven't kept up with the manga. (; Д ;)

Cutsew: Bodyline
Skirt: Candy Violet
Bag: Bodyline
Socks: Sock Dreams
Shoes: BodylineI
I wore this on Christmas eve for church and Christmas festivities with my fiance. I was glad to have lost some weight to better fit the cutsew. I'm down to a 34 inch waist now, so I'm gradually edging closer into fitting properly into more items. <3 <3 <3

Skirt, Shoes, Top, Floral Bow: Rue21
Necklace and Bracelets: Forever21
Tights: Target
I've been totally obsessed with the idea of making an order from the gyaru brand DreamV lately though I inevitably chicken out when I see the shipping fees. So, I decided to craft my own DreamV-esque look domestically and I was really happy with the results. Plus, the best part? Each of the item was on sale at Rue21 for only $5 apiece with the exception of the headpiece at $2. So yes, that's a pair of boots, a skirt with a belt, and sparkly material top for only $17 before tax. Score! ヽ(⌒▽⌒)ノ My main complaint is that I want a blonde or red wig to go with this expanding part of my wardrobe for the future.

That's it for now! I hope to keep going with more Lolita Blog Carnival posts, reviews and outfit in 2013. <3

Recent Outfits + Gothic Lolita Wigs Customer Showcase

I have just a few outfits to share today along with my feature on the Gothic Lolita Wigs customer showcase today. ~<3

OP: Angelic Pretty Dreaming of Macaron
Wig: Gothig Lolita Wigs
Tights: Holley Tea Time
Bag: Bodyline
Shoes: Bodyline
Accessories: Claire's, Bowkuma, Forever 21
I wore this outfit to class one day recently. I like wearing a more over the top coordinate like this on campus more than most places since I didn't get weird stares from people. It's a college campus, so I think people just assume that they'll see slightly not ordinary things.

Top: Rue 21
Hoodie: Walmart
Skirt: Bodyline
Shoes: Claire's
Accessories: Rue 21
This was just a simple outfit for visiting the museum one afternoon after class. I liked how the colors matched the fall weather.

And above is my Gothic Lolita Wigs customer showcase! They've already sent me my $10 coupon. ^_^ The only thing I'm upset about it that they listed the shirt as offbrand when I told them it was Tasty Peach Studios. Oh well.

Thrift Store Fairy Kei/Spank! Success

I've been wanting to expand my fairy kei wardrobe to be able to withstand the colds of Alabama winter. This basically means light jackets and sweaters most of the time. While lolita generally uses heavier coats and boleros, I've generally seen fairy kei use light pastel jackets which I've been having trouble locating. Inspired by Skiteanna Sweet's post on top places to buy fairy kei and my desire to explore more secondhand friendly spank! fashion, I decided to check out my local Goodwill thrift store to see if I could find anything pastel.

I was surprised at what I was able to find. My first discovery was a basic white frilly skirt. I've been pondering doing a tie dye project for a while, so I filed this item away in my future project area.

My second find was a very cute Grape Crush shirt. Not my photo below, but it exactly resembles the item which I found:

I love the softer purple coloring of this item along with the vintage feel of the logo.

My final find was my favorite. Remember how I mentioned preparing for winter? Well, I was able to find a pastel rainbow colored sweater.  ヽ(*≧ω≦)ノ

I coordinated the outfit below to be my first spank!/ 80s pastel outfit. I'm pleased with the results:

Sweater: Thrifted
Skirt: Delia's
Earrings: Darling Deers
Necklace: Forever 21
Socks: Target
Shoes: Bodyline
I was pleasantly surprised with how this outfit came out. I also messed with my hair, going for something more akin to an 80s top knot like I've seen in a number of photos of girls sporting the fashion.

Also, for once, my wallet wasn't crying out in fear. I managed to snag all of the pieces for about $7 with tax. Pretty good deal to me.

The lesson of this story? Give your local thrift store a try. You and your budget may be pleasantly surprised.
